Outspoken FairTax advocate, David Stover, received more than double the votes of the next highest candidate and more than the 2nd and 3rd place candidates combined in a 6-way contest for the 71st GA House District.  Stover garnered 42.7% of the votes cast in the February 5 contest.

He now moves  on to the special election runoff to be held March 5. In Coweta County, early voting will begin Saturday, February 23rd at 9:00am – 4:00pm and will continue weekdays 8:30 am until 4:30 pm through March 1, 2013.

Stover not only argues for the FairTax at the national level, but supports a growing movement in Georgia to eliminate the state income tax and replace it with a consumption tax.  An increasingly vocal group of Georgia legislators have begun formulating how to make this happen.  Seven other states, including neighboring Florida, have no income tax.

Stover has already received endorsements from both Lynn Westmoreland and Paul Broun, two GA US Congressmen who are co-sponsors of the FairTax at the national level.  For more details visit Stover’s website at:   http://www.votestover.com/issues/taxes-eliminate-state-income-tax.
