Federal Senate Pledge

Candidates running for the United States Senate for the State of Georgia were sent a copy of the FairTax® pledge to sign. Here is what the pledge stated:

I, (Name), a candidate for the United States Senate, after considerable thought and study, am convinced that the FairTax would provide much needed economic stimulus, job creation and a restoration of equal treatment under the law to our tax system. Additional benefits include reducing the federal budget deficit, as well as the trade deficit. I also respect and appreciate that, if elected, the people of Georgia will have given me a platform from which to help elevate issues which benefit them. As such, I pledge to actively work to promote the benefits of the FairTax. Such active promotion will consist of, among other things, the following items:

  1. I will work with my colleagues in the United States Senate to ensure that the FairTax bill (currently S 155) will be reintroduced into the Senate for the 115th session of Congress and all subsequent sessions as long as I serve in that body unless it passes into law before then, that
  2. I will promote the benefits of the FairTax to my Senate colleagues and encourage them to sign on as co-sponsors, that
  3. I will facilitate and support FairTax presentations for my colleagues to enable them to better understand the proposal’s many benefits to the American people, and that
  4. I will use interviews and other forms of public appearances to educate both my constituency, as well as the general public, on the benefits of the FairTax and will use these opportunities to consistently and enthusiastically advocate for the FairTax.

The candidates were asked to sign and return the pledge. Click here to return to the list of Federal Senate Representatives.

Please note that Senator David Perdue, who is not up for reelection this year, he signed his pledge on 7/15/14 and is in support of the Georgia FairTax.
